FREE CVC Packet {Short A}

I have been able to stay nice and warm in my pajamas for the last two days because of snow days!!!  It has been wonderful, got my house cleaned, laundry done, and finally got time to create some goodies!!   On a sad note, this little guy woke up with the flu this morning and has not been able to keep anything down and I'm on the third round of laundry because of it!!

I hate it when they are so little and don't know what is happening, let's hope this is just the 24 hour bug!!

Well, while he is taking a nap, I wanted to let you sweet followers know about my latest creations!!  I have put the first one up for FREE!  I'm in the process of creating some Short Vowel CVC packets to help my littles that are still struggling with it.

The Short A packet is up for grabs and here is what is included:

CVC Read/Write the Room with recording sheet

I included picture cards with and without the words so you can differentiate!!

CVC Puzzles with recording sheet

Students will piece together puzzle pieces to made a CVC word.  This also helps practice those word families!

CVC Clip It

Students will look at a picture and then "clip" the CVC word that matches the picture!!

CVC Read It, Write It, Build It Interactive Book {letter tiles are included}

This is a fun little interactive book where students will read the word, write the word, and then build the word using the letter tiles included.  After all pages have been completed it can be stapled into a book!

Snow Day Ice Cream!!!

Wahoo!!!!  We finally had our first snow day today!!  It was wonderful, no alarm clock, staying in my PJ's all day long.  The kids and I decided to make some snow ice cream and they loved it!!  We of course had to put some chocolate syrup on top!!!

Want to make snow ice cream too!!  It's easy, here's what you need:

8 cups of fresh, clean snow

1 cup of whipping cream

1/2 cup of sugar

1tsp. of vanilla

Stir it all together until it is blended add your toppings and enjoy!!!

Good News, I just received word that we get tomorrow off also!!!  

Is anybody else out there getting snow days!!  I would love to hear how you spend them!!

CVC Update and Giveaway!

Hello all my wonderful friends.  This is going to be a quick post because I am STARVING!!!  I had to skip my lunch today because of a meeting and so the little orange I ate quickly while my kids were working on addition is not holding me over!!!!  I must find something to get in my belly!!!

Moving on, I created a little CVC packet a few months ago and it has been working great in my small groups!  However, I still have a few little sweeties that just can't get past those CVC words and speed up their fluency, so I went back to the packet and added a few more things for them to work on!!  Hopefully, your kiddos can benefit from them as well.  Here are pictures of what is included!!

This first activity, kids will fill in the missing sound in each CVC word.  I have included picture cards where the beginning sounds are missing, cards with the medial sound missing, cards with the ending sound missing, and then for the more advanced cards where all sounds are missing.  Students will place a picture card on their work mat {included} and use either a dry erase marker or letter tiles to fill in the sounds.  

 These are CVC puzzles.  Students will piece together the sounds to form a CVC word, the pictures aid them when spelling them out.

This next activity is a matching activity.  Students have to match the picture to the correct CVC word.

This is a rhyming activity where students will match the rhyming picture and/or words and then record them on their recording sheet.

Pretty sure I have the Sunday night, winter break is over BLUES!!!  I had intentions of getting oh so much more done, but that didn't happen!  Is it too early to start thinking about SUMMER!! Ha, just kidding, no I'm not!!!

Valentine's Fact Family Craftivity

It's hard to believe Christmas Break is already coming to an end.  I don't know about you, but I could sure use another week to catch up on LIFE!!  I was able to create a fun little project for your kids to do during the month of February.  I love Valentine's Day and all the pretty colors that come with it, it helps to brighten my spirits a little.
